MEET ANDREW
Fair and Focused for the Future.
Andrew Schwab is a dedicated public servant with over 13 years of experience in law enforcement. He has served in a wide range of roles with the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, including Patrol Deputy, Field Training Officer, Investigator, Township Deputy, member of the DEA Heroin Task Force, and Patrol Sergeant. He currently leads the Court Operations Unit, where he oversees warrants, extraditions, electronic monitoring, and the safe transport of individuals in custody. Since assuming leadership of this unit, warrant arrests have increased by 300%, with the majority of arrests involving violent offenders and individuals who committed crimes against children. This increase in apprehensions was done so without expanding the unit’s budget or staffing.
Throughout his career, Andrew has worked every patrol shift and taken pride in leading by example. Andrew has consistently demonstrated a commitment to treating people with dignity, making thoughtful decisions under pressure, and contributing to the development of safer communities across Kane County.
In addition to his operational experience, Andrew has served for many years on the Sheriff’s Office Union Executive Board, including as Union President. In that role, he advocated for fair workplace practices, improved policy development, and helped resolve labor disputes in ways that benefited both the agency and the public it serves.
Andrew is running for Sheriff with a simple, firm commitment: to lead an agency that is Fair & Focused for the Future. His priorities include strengthening partnerships with local and federal agencies, expanding mental health support for both the public and deputies, and making fiscally responsible decisions that maximize every tax dollar.
Born and raised in Illinois, Andrew is proud to call Kane County home. He lives here with his wife and family, and is deeply committed to protecting and serving the people of this community, today and for years to come.
